Tianxiang Community in SIP’s Huxi sub-district announced the opening of its “Garbage Classification Points Bank” at a local book mall on July 25, hoping the “bank” can help motivate more residents to do their bit in proper waste disposal.

 

The “bank” reportedly issues a deposit card to record credit points that the holders can earn by taking part in garbage classification and use to exchange for eco-friendly products.

 

Concurrently, a volunteer team consisting of both juveniles and adults was formed. The volunteers will serve in various campaigns to impart knowledge on garbage sorting and recycling to local residents and offer them help in their practices.

In the event, the volunteers gave singing and dancing performances devised to increase the public’s awareness of garbage classification.
