Started out 25 years ago as a “test field” for cooperation between Chinese and Singaporean governments, SIP has fulfilled a series of tasks aimed at enhancing economic and cultural exchange between the two countries with flying colors. Now it is ready to enhance its role in promoting Sino-Singaporean cooperation.

The “SIP experience” that has proved to be very effective in bolstering business development and increasing residents’ sense of happiness has laid a solid found for SIP to meet the goal.

SIP has been borrowing experience from Singapore for industrial layout, business support, science and technology innovation, social governance and public services since its inception in 1994. However, instead of simply duplicating Singapore’s good practices, SIP has made great efforts to localize them in an innovative way, which eventually led to the “SIP experience”. Relying on the experience, SIP will be able to make more achievements in Sino-Singaporean cooperation projects.

At the same time, the increasingly tightened ties between Jiangsu province and Singapore provide opportunities for SIP to achieve the goal. At the 12th Meeting of the Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council held in Singapore on Nov 20, 2018, SIP signed a series of cooperation agreements with Singaporean parties to enhance efforts in facilitating trade and investment liberalization, especially in the finance sector. This provides new chances for SIP to deepen and widen cooperation with Singaporean partners.
