The event attracted more than 200 residents.

There were 36 display boards and a number of posters on site to disseminate legal knowledge and tips on water saving and water pollution prevention, and 50 volunteers from over 20 organizations served aside to hand out related brochures to the visitors.

"It shows us how waste water is treated and what we should do to save and protect water," a middle-aged woman said, pointing at a display board she had carefully read.

Apart from that, staff from Suzhou Water Supply and Drainage Management Office tested water quality for the residents using specialized instruments, while those from SIP Qingyuan Huayan Water Service Co Ltd answered the residents’ inquiries about water use in daily life.

It is learnt that a series of events of similar kind will take place in SIP in the future to call on local residents to cherish and help conserve water resources.
