The construction plan designed to extend SIP's Xingtang Street southward by 10.9 km was recently released for public consultation. It is expected to make the street a trunk road connecting SIP's southern and northern parts.
Currently, the street's 4.7-km north extension is under construction, anticipated to help cut down the travel time between Qingjianhu and Hudong sub-district to five minutes after it comes into service in June 2019.

The south extension, from Cheguo Road intersection to Songzhou Road in Wujiang District, will consist of an interchange ramp joining the east part of Central Ring Road and sections built by renovating several existing roads in the area.
