Grundfos Tech Centre China Grand Opening after Upgrading
On August 13, Grundfos Tech Centre China Grand opening was held at Suzhou Industrial Park after it's upgraded and expanded. Ernst Lutz, Executive Vice President of Grundfos Group, Peter Karlsen, Senior Vice President, Catherine Yang, Regional Managing Director of Grundfos China, Han Jiang, Deputy Director of the Management Committee and Member of the CPC Working Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park, and Professor Li Hong, Director of Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu University attended the ceremony.
Founded in 2005, Tech Centre China witnesses the technology innovations of Grundfos in China for past two decades. The Tech Centre has grown from a small start-up with only 2 motor design engineers to more than 100 technical R&D personnel and multiple departments, like hydraulic and mechanical design, software and hardware design, product data management, technical marketing, maintenance and lab. After this upgrade, the office space and R&D area in the Tech Centre are expanded and facilities updated; talent development and researches will focus more on localization to provide China market with high-qualified pump solutions.
Ernst Lutz, Executive Vice President of Grundfos Group, addressed on the ceremony and stated that innovation is the soul of Grundfos. Nearly 5% of the Grundfos group revenue are invested in innovation every year. China is one of the most important strategic markets for Grundfos and Tech Centre China will provide great technical supports to expansion of China market. With the localization strategy implemented by Grundfos, Tech Centre will work closely with other functions of Grundfos China to bring excellent pump solutions for Chinese customers and better meet their real needs.
Han Jiang, Vice Chairman of the Management Committee and Member of the CPC Working Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park addressed on the ceremony and celebrated the opening of the upgraded Tech Centre China. Mr. Han said that Grundfos is an important environmental protection oriented manufacturing company in Suzhou Industrial Park. Ever since 1995 when Grundfos Pump (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. was founded, it has given proactive contributions to the local economic development, industrial upgrading and the talent development. The Management Committee of the industrial park will maintain its full support and wishes that Grundfos will achieve more development in China.
On the ceremony, Joachim Krogshave, Technical Director of Tech Centre China, on behalf of Grundfos, signed a MOU with Suzhou University and Jiangsu University. In the future, Grundfos will enhance the cooperation with the above two universities in the field of basic research, project collaboration and talent development, as well as to develop more pumps that are specific to Chinese local market like pumps in secondary water supply and Sponge City Initiative.
The participating guests took a tour around the upgraded Tech Centre. Ernst Lutz, Catherine Yang and Joachim Krogshave China were interviewed by 4 media outlets, including Xinhua Daily, Suzhou Daily, Jiemian News and Beijing Sci-Tech Report. The media payed high attention to topics about Grundfos' strategy in China market, Sponge City Initiative, and energy saving and emission reduction.
