The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China has lately declared this year's first 24 Green Manufacturing Demonstration Sites. SIP is on the list, as one of the three development zones from Jiangsu province.

Since its inception, SIP has been pursuing an ecology-friendly development by transforming economic development pattern. For the purpose, it has been engaged in developing an environment-friendly and regionally integrated development mode through a series of endeavors in optimizing utilization of various resources, strengthening infrastructure construction, enhancing support for environment-friendly industries as well as deepening administrative measures for environmental protection.

This is in addition to industrial restructuring that leans to modern services, adoption of higher environmental protection thresholds, continuous landscape improvement as well as low-carbon development planning, which have all contributed to the reasonable, orderly, efficient and environment-friendly development of SIP.

Likewise, several SIP-based enterprises have been declared Green Factories, Green Design Products Manufacturers and Green Supply Chain Management Models by MIIT.
