Xingtang Street northward extension project expected to be completed in 2019

The above picture taken on March 29 shows that the workers are in the middle of building a cofferdam at the construction site of National Highway No. 312—Suhong Road section of Xingtang Street northward extension (Suhong Road—Weicheng Road) project. At present, 50% of the cofferdam construction work has been completed, and the pile foundation construction work has been already underway.

The approximately 4.7km extension project is expected to be open to traffic by the end of June, 2019, and by then it takes only five minutes to drive from Qingjian Lake area to Hudong (east of Jinji Lake) area.

The project starts from Shenxu Road East in the south, and ends at Weicheng Road in the north. From Suhong Road in the south to Weixin Road in the north, it spans Loujiang River, National Highway No. 312, Beijing-Shanghai express railway, Shanghai-Nanjing express railway, Chunhui Road, Fengting Avenue and Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway in the shape of viaduct, and then it passes Yangchenghu Avenue in the form of level crossing.
