A group of 15 grade-one students from Xingzhou Primary School visited Hua Yan Water Second Sewage Treatment Plant in SIP on Jan 18. The activity, as part of the their winter vacation social practice, was organized by SIP Environment Supervision Brigade, for the purpose of enhancing the publicity of environment protection and raising the students’ awareness of and participation in environment protection.

During the tour of the plant, Xu Chao, a manager of the plant, gave a detailed explanation of how the black and smelly sewage is treated and processed until it turns into clear and clean water. His explanation was strengthened by students’ questions and his answers.

His account enabled the students to have a clear knowledge of the whole sewage treatment process. The students realized that it takes much work and energy to do the job, saying that they would do their bit in the future to protect the water resources and the environment.
