A long and narrow desolate strip of land between Donghuan Road and Suzhou-Jiaxing-Hangzhou Expressway used to be abandoned by both the old town of Suzhou and modern Suzhou Industrial Park. In 2005, Suzhou Industrial Park Urban Renovation & Development Co., Ltd. took over the responsibility of transforming it into a landscape area.

The changes started to manifest themselves in 2006 and, eight years later, this place has taken on a brand new look, featuring high-rises, busy traffic, wider roads, road lamps in neat lines, and diverse plants. The entire renovation area covers 8 square kilometers.

With 1,500,000-square-meter business, residential, and service facilities as well as 46-hectare green area, this place connects the old town and Huxi CBD.

The landscape buildings in the area include Vanke Midtown and Brilliant Eastern Ring Plaza. Another highlight is the extensive use of energy-saving lighting devices to light up the area at low cost and in an environment-friendly way.
