There is a vineyard at the northwest corner of Tingyuan Community of Weiting Sub-district in Suzhou Industrial Park to the south of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. It belongs to the community cooperative, Tingyuan Yikang, the plantation, started out in October 2012. Four managers oversee total 8.5 mu of land, among which seven mu are dedicated to grapes, 1.5 mu for toona sinensis, trees with edible tender leaves known for unique pungent flavor. The vineyard grows seven different varieties of grapes and uses organic fertilizer only. The management expects a total output of 3,000 kilograms this year and a two-thirds increase next year.
