SIP has set a new example in facilitating AI development and application relying on an integrated AI ecosystem consisting of AI technology developers, users and related technical service suppliers.
Suzhou AI Industry Park came into operation at SIP’s Suzhou International Science Park (SISPARK) in 2018, currently home to hundreds of businesses engaged in developing a wide range of AI technologies that have changed or will change people’s lifestyles and production modes.
Apart from that, SIP encourages well-developed tech companies to set up their R&D arms in the area to develop AI technologies based on local businesses’ needs. In one case, American tech behemoth Microsoft launched a project last year to erect an AI innovation center in SIP to provide services that can help local enterprises speed up their business transformation, upgrading and innovation.
At the same time, SIP offered plenty of opportunities for newly developed AI technologies to be tested and used locally.
Litens Automotive Parts (Suzhou) Co Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canada-based auto parts manufacturer Litens Automotive Group in SIP, has achieved annual sales of more than RMB 1.4 billion thanks to the adoption of a series of smart manufacturing facilities. It is noteworthy that the cloud solutions underpinning its smart manufacturing are from another SIP-based company OPSOFT.
Actually, SIP has been striving for years to create good conditions for AI development, including cooperating with telecommunications operators and companies in deploying 5G network and building a supercomputing center which will come into operation soon. All of the efforts have made the area a forerunner in the country in AI development and application.
