The Security and Environmental Protection Brigade at SIP’s Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation Zone (DLSEIZ) recently carried out a four-day inspection tour where they used advanced mobile devices to measure air quality across DLSEIZ with the purpose of eliminating pollution from the source.

 

The in-vehicle monitoring and navigation devices can detect levels of air compositions, make analysis, report abnormality and trace pollution sources.

 

During the inspection tour, the brigade staff discovered 18 sites with abnormality in air quality and two enterprises with illegal waste discharge, and gained a full map of distribution of harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Further investigation will follow soon, the brigade said.
