Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, on Sept 25 met with a delegation led by Michel Lagarde, president of pharma services and senior vice president at American biotech company Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc, and Tony Acciarito, president of Thermo Fisher Scientific China. The two parties discussed details about future cooperation.

At the event, Wu gave the guests an introduction to China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Suzhou Area, a new free trade zone in SIP, hoping the company can take advantage of the trade facilitation policies and measures in the zone to seek better development. He also promised on behalf of SIP authorities to offer more support to the company’s factory that was founded in SIP in 2013.

Michel Lagarde expressed thanks to SIP authorities for their consistent support to the company and expressed expectations for further tightened ties with SIP. He said the company will do its best to lend local biopharmaceutical enterprises a hand in overcoming various challenges in new drug development.
