The 5th InnovFest Suzhou kicked off at NUS (Suzhou) Research Institute (NUSRI), SIP on Sept 25. Over 100 science and technology projects from China, Singapore and other countries and regions are on display, and a series of forums and roadshows are scheduled for the next three days.

InnovFest Suzhou, an annual event initiated by NUSRI in SIP in 2015, is designed to facilitate partnering among research institutions and enterprises in groundbreaking innovation and cutting-edge technology development. Over 300 high-tech projects from more than 10 countries and regions were showcased at the previous sessions, and nearly 80 high-tech startups have settled down in Suzhou with the help from BLOCK71 Suzhou, a branch of Singapore’s iconic startup hub BLOCK71 in NUSRI.
This year’s event focuses on projects and topics widely concerned by the public. It incorporates a number of specialized exhibitions to showcase the latest technologies for elderly care, smart urban management, healthcare, environmental improvement and other purposes, and diverse theme forums where domestic and overseas tech experts and professionals will share their expertise. Additionally, it includes a project fair to give university students a helping hand in finding partners for their projects.

Apart from that, there will be information sessions to expound on local business support policies to tech companies intending to launch operations in Suzhou, and chances for enterprise representatives to visit Shanghai to look for business opportunities.
