The first set of processing units built as part of the Vacuum Interconnected Nano-X Research Facility (Nano-X), the world’s largest multifunctional nanoscience and nanotech research platform at Suzhou Institute of Nano-tech and Nano-bionics in SIP, passed expert evaluation on Mar 28.

The evaluation covers a nano material and device development platform with a 91-meter ultrahigh vacuum pipeline and other components that started construction in 2014 with a total investment of RMB 320 million based on an agreement between the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Jiangsu government.

The expert panel consisting of five members from Institute of Physics at CAS, CAS’s Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China and Nanjing University announced the evaluation results after prudent deliberations based on a field survey on the units, the project undertaker’s report and replies to their inquiries, and a succession of reviews on related documents.
