Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, and his contingent paid a visit on Mar 14 to the offices of Eli Lilly and Company (hereafter referred to as Eli Lilly) and Adidas in Shanghai, trying to seek more cooperation opportunities. Both of the two Fortune 500 enterprises have branches in SIP.

It is learnt that Eli Lilly, a global leading pharmaceutical company based in the United States, started its operations in SIP in 1995. In the event, Mr. Enrique Conterno, senior vice president of the company, expressed thanks for SIP's consistent support, and both parties showed expectations to maintain a long-term strategic partnership.

Adidas, the Germany-headquartered sports apparel company, finished the business registration for its wholly-owned subsidiary Adidas (China) Ltd in SIP in 2007. In the visit to Adidas (China) Ltd's new office building in Shanghai, the officials had a tour around the offices and gyms, listening to Managing Director Colin Currie's introduction to their operations and discussed future cooperation plans with Currie and his peers.
