Roche Diagnostics (Suzhou) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary founded by Swiss healthcare company Roche in SIP in 2015, inaugurated its new manufacturing facility in the area on Oct 29, in a move to seek a fast and sustainable development in China and the Asian-Pacific region.

The US$ 299-million project, named Roche Diagnostics Suzhou, is claimed as Roche's first manufacturing and R&D base in the Asian-Pacific region, specializing in research, development and production of diagnostic reagents used in immunological and biochemical detections for treatment of tumors, metabolic disorders and cardiovascular, hepatic and infectious diseases.

Roche Diagnostics Suzhou boasts a 7.5-ha campus comprising an array of buildings interspersed with gardens, including an LEED Platinum-certified administrative building with a high-performance envelope using recycled and regionally sourced materials. Currently, part of the campus with a total floor area of 48,000 sqm is already in use, and an 11,500-sqm project is still under construction.
