The Drug Discovery Innovation (DDI) 2018 kicked off in SIP on Oct 24, bringing together a blend of executives from Amgen Inc and other globally renowned pharmaceutical enterprises and scholars from Chinese and overseas schools including Tsinghua University and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to discuss innovations and technological advancements in drug discovery and development.

DDI is an annual event initiated in 2015 by DIA China, the China branch of DIA, a global association that mobilizes life science professionals from across all areas of expertise to engage with patients, peers and thought leaders in a neutral environment on the issues of today and the possibilities for tomorrow. It is designed to lend Chinese drug makers a hand in enhancing information and technical exchange with their peers.

This year's event focuses on a series of hot topics concerning drug discovery, development and clinical trials. On the first day, several of the participants shared their strategies and tactics for new drug project initiation and management.
