Dong Yong, a space expert from China Academy of Space Technology, gave a lecture at SIP Library on May 19, imparting knowledge on aerospace science and technology to over 300 primary and middle school students and their parents.
Dong started the lecture with several Chinese and western myths that demonstrate people's curiosity about the space, which greatly piqued the participants’ interest in learning more about it.
After that, based on his rich experience in satellite and spacecraft development, Dong gave a talk on the current development of aerospace technologies in China with the example of Chang'e 1, an unmanned lunar-orbiting spacecraft as part of the first phase of the Chinese Lunar Exploration Program. He encouraged the students to devote to deeper exploration of aerospace science.
