Dinshaw J. Patel, an American structural biologist and a member of US National Academy of Sciences, gave a talk about the effects of small non-coding RNA molecules on gene expression at the 119th Lakeside Forum held in SIP on Apr 19.

The Lakeside Forum is a regular event initiated in 2006 in the area to invite global experts and scholars to share their opinions and expertise concerning academic researches, cultural development, business operations and politics.

At the event, Dinshaw J. Patel, who concurrently works at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, gave a specific introduction to his team's research on riboswitches, ribozymes and RNA interference as well as their endeavor and achievements in deciphering the shapes of biomolecules and principles underlying molecular complex formation.
