Academic authorities and industrial experts meet for AI development

A seminar on artificial intelligence (AI) took place at Eolane IoT City Suzhou, SIP, on Nov 30. More than 80 academic authorities from universities and experts from related industries were present, sharing their opinions and projects and discussing issues related to AI development and application.

Zhang Wenqiang, associate professor from School of Computer Science and director of its Robots and AI Laboratory at Fudan university, one of China's most prestigious universities in Shanghai, gave a talk on "Development and Application of Key Technologies for Audio-Visual-Perception-Based Service Robots" as well as introduced their robot development projects.

Shang Huiliang, associate professor from School of Information Science and Technology at Fudan university, shared his opinions on smart manufacturing, believing that smart manufacturing is a key solution for enhancing independent innovation ability, resource utilization efficiency and structural optimization of China's manufacturing industry.

Dr. Xie Jianfeng, CEO of Shanghai Kaipeng Smart Science & Tech Co Ltd, explained in detail the functions of AI technology in safeguarding factories' operation safety and improving manufacturing efficiency.

Hong Xianbin, organizer of Suzhou Google Developer Groups, introduced Google's research and technical reform in AI in recent years.

The event also included a project roadshow, where Suzhou Owl Recognition Technology Co Ltd showcased their smart risk warning system for drivers, and a Q&A session, where the experts answered the inquiries of other participants.
