The ground-breaking ceremony of Delphi (Suzhou) Powertrain Plant was held in SIP on Nov 28. The new plant, with a total land area of 84 mu (5.6 ha), will be engaged in supplying key parts and components for new-energy-driven vehicle manufacturers in the country. The Phase I project, with a total planned floor area of 16,700 sqm, is expected to come into operation in January 2019.

Delphi Automotive, headquartered in UK, is one of the world's largest automotive parts manufacturers. Delphi Electronics (Suzhou) Co Ltd settled in SIP in 1996 and set up a technical research and development center here a few years ago. The new plant is Delphi's another move to expand its business in SIP, which reflects its confidence in and satisfaction with SIP's business environment.
