GCL System Integration Technology Co Ltd (GCL System), a Golden Concord Group (GCL) member specializing in operations related to clean and renewable energy, launched the operation of its 600MW-capacity battery manufacturing base in Bac Giang province, Vietnam, in July. The project blazes a trail for GCL to expand the overseas market.

Although the project is GCL System's first overseas manufacturing base, it is not the first time for GCL to enter the Vietnamese market. Actually, the group established four 300MW power generator units in Vietnam early this century.

"We chose Vietnam after a careful survey on a number of countries, such as Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. We considered its stable relations with China, its role as the world's second largest PV production cluster only after China, its government's support for foreign enterprises, and its low labor and logistics costs, etc. All of the advantages made us set our mind on the Vietnamese market," said Shu Hua, president of GCL System.
