The inauguration ceremony of Beckman Coulter Biotechnology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (BCBSCL) , also the occasion for new product launch, took place in Sangtian Island Bio Industrial Park (SIBIP) on Jan 16.

With a total construction area of over 6,000 sqm, the new plant will become a key base for the global R&D and manufacturing effort of Beckman Coulter's Life Sciences Department. 

At the opening ceremony, Beckman Coulter announced its new product: CytoFLEX S IR flow cytometry. As the company's latest product born out of the CytoFLEX series platform which has received global recognition, the flow cytometry is equipped with an unprecedented 808nm laser. CytoFLEX S IR is capable of testing four lasers and 13 fluorescence channels simultaneously, which will further expand the scope of scientific research and help researchers obtain more scientific findings.

Founded by Dr. Chen Yongqin, SIP Scientific and Technological Leading Talent, BCBSCL was previously Suzhou Saijing Biotechnology Co., Ltd.(SSBCL), which was purchased in 2014 by Beckman Coulter's Life Sciences Department, a subsidiary of Danaher Corporation, one of the world's largest precision instrument manufacturers. Depending on a series of core proprietary technologies, the company is dedicated to the R&D of new generation flow cytometry and analysis software.

BCBSCL moved from BioBay to SIBIP in November 2016. The inauguration ceremony is a significant landmark in Beckman Coulter's life sciences business in China.

As a major cooperative project between Chinese and Singaporean governments, SIP has developed into an important window to China's opening-up and a successful exemplar of China's international cooperation over the past 23 years.
