Shen A'dong, a childless and disabled senior citizen living in Jin Yuan Community, Shengpu Subdistrict, SIP, saw her home become very busy recently when a public-minded company in SIP came to install an air-conditioner for her.

Shen, 61, has severe disability since she became paralyzed at 13 when she couldn’t get effective treatment for a serious disease.

Since she has no children and her only elder sister is too old to take care of her, she is being cared for by social workers who take turns visiting her at her home.  

After visiting the elderly who are living a lonely and difficult life in the community in 2012, Samsung decided to take care of Shen A'dong. Since then the company's leaders or volunteers would do shopping for her and chat with her every other month, to which Shen is very grateful. If Shen makes any small request, the company always tries to satisfy her.

Seeing Shen's poor living conditions, Samsung proposed to install an air-conditioner for her. Recently volunteers from Samsung came to Shen's home and installed the air conditioner within half an hour. Feeling the warm wind from the air-conditioner, Shen A'dong is very happy.
