Jumei.com East China Operation Center under construction

Construction of jumei.com East China Operation Center started in SIP International Trade Zone Monday morning. The project is designed to be a self-contained modern online retailer industry chain base.

Situated to the south of Tongsheng Road and west of Jinjiang Road in SIP, the operation center covers a land area of about 169,000 square meters and its floor area is about 138,000 square meters.

The new center will be an integrated complex for high standard warehousing, offices, product display, business service, customer service center and space for live streaming, and its reach will extend across Shanghai and cities in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. The 40,000 square meter warehouses in Phase I will be the first to be completed and put into operation.

According to Chen Ou, founder and CEO of jumei.com, the company will have six warehouses and one office building built here so as to realize headquarters agglomeration effect; the center will develop into an online retailer industry chain base, carry out domestic trade and cross-border business simultaneously, and provide better services for the users in the East China area.

As China's largest online retailing operator of cosmetics, jumei.com was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2014 and moved into SIP in 2015. Over the past year, jumei.com has received 13 million orders in Suzhou, and its business volume has amounted to 1.4 billion RMB yuan; the company's scope of business has also been expanded into wearing apparel, affordable luxury, etc.
