SIP residents have long before got used to such smart transport as checking the electronic board at the bus stop to find out about the upcoming bus. The very smart transportation system is right built on the cloud platform of Suzhou International Science-Park Data Center (SISDC).  

SISDC and Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University recently entered into partnership to construct the big data analysis and technology center in a bid to train high-end big data analysis talents adapted to the era of digital economy and initiate research innovation.

The students can use IBM software to go through business analysis training, carrying out enterprise information analysis, research analysis, data analysis, quantified data model framework, market analysis, finance analysis, etc.

According to Xu Mingtao, deputy director of the E-government Management Division of Suzhou Development and Reform Commission, in its effort to develop big data industry, Suzhou boasts solid industrial foundation, huge potential of big data market demand, sound environment and policies for talents, self-contained talent training and introduction system and support system, and can provide convenient and all-around talent services.

Different from other domestic cities that orient big data industry towards software and information service industry, Suzhou aims at the middle-and-high end of big data industry chain and value chain.

The city attaches importance to developing various value added service industries that come out of big data application, and more importance to using big data technology to promote the transformation and upgrading of its traditional manufacturing industry and service industry. Meanwhile, it also lays stress on the industries that emerge from modern Internet technology application and development and are characterized by cloud calculation and big data.  

SISDC is SIP's major public technology service platform project, and Asia's first certified green data center designed and constructed in strict accordance with Tier IV standards. With a total investment of 1 billion yuan, SISDC is the largest third-party data center in East China.
