The 4-day "International Brain Project Summit" was convened by Cold Spring Harbor (CSH) Asia on June 19, attended by 60 top-notch scientists from around the world in a free discussion about international cooperation in brain project.

The meeting is the first international meeting on the thematic discussion about brain project after President Obama of the U.S. made open his human brain project, and unlike other academic exchanges, the meeting is more focused on the cooperation among various countries from strategic point of view, and to some degree, it is aimed to formulate rules and conventions of historical significance. 60 scientists, including the Nobel Laureate Susumu Tonegawa, were invited to discuss the topics of nervous system, theory and computing science, research technology and tools, the broad vision, cells and nourishment, big data interface with brain machine, human neurology and diseases, etc., in an attempt to promote integration of international resources and coordination of brain project research in different parts of the world in the form of white paper.

Since 2010, CSH Asia has become the only permanent high-end scientific exchange platform in the Asian-Pacific region, and by the end of last year, it had hosted a total of 80 sessions with the attendance of 11,000 person/times. SIP is planning to take another three years to build the CSH Asia Conferences into a showcase in uplifting the profile of SIP as an internationalized metropolis.

At the welcome banquet on June 19, SIP Publicity Office arranged a display area to illustrate the culture of Suzhou and the image of SIP to give the guests a better understanding of Suzhou and at the same time to serve as the start of the serial publicity campaign for CSH Asia Conferences.
