Suzhou Industrial Park announced new policies on November 6 encouraging college students to start up their own businesses. The initiatives include an annual special fund of two million yuan, construction of incubators, public technical service, and a tutor team.

The new policies apply to qualified business plans assessed and approved by the government. In addition to startup capital and offices, SIP authorities also plan to cooperate with schools and social organizations in launching training sessions, seminars, and promotions, hoping to gather those with ambitions and potentials from all over the country.

Dushu Lake Science & Education Innovation District in south SIP is a modern district dedicated to education and research and emerging sectors. By the end of 2013, it had 25 higher education institutions, one national research institute, 201 R&D centers and platforms, 5 national incubators, and 38 workstations for academicians and post-doctoral researchers.

SIP was named "National Pilot Park for College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship" in October 2013. Since then, local authorities have entered partnerships with a dozen domestic universities and colleges. It is believed that the newly announced policies would promote the growth of college education resources, scientific research, and commercialization of business plans launched by college students.
