On the afternoon of September 13, local entrepreneurs and experts gathered at BioBay in Suzhou Industrial Park for a theme salon about mobile medicine.

Xu Ning, chief executive officer of Robo Suzhou, believed that mobile and remote medical service are general trend in this industry. "If you go to hospital, you'll have to deal with long lines and limited consulting time." He cited the example of surgical robot, which is able to do surgeries more accurately and efficiently with minimum invasion. "It can also reach the areas impossible for traditional surgeries."

Zhang Qiang, a famed expert of vascular surgery and the founder of Dr. Smile Medical Group, saw the urgent need of reforms in China's medical care system, and believed in the future of mobile medicine. "Consulting is a big market for mobile medicine," he said. "If you don't feel well, instead of going to outpatient service at hospital, you can make online consultation, asking for professional opinions before going to hospital. Mobile service can also cover post-ops telling patient when to remove the stitches and monitoring their physiological responses."

BioBay is a base for over 370 life science R&D companies, creating industrial clusters of drug development, medical device, biotechnology, and nanotechnology with more than 8,000 professionals. The monthly industrial salons aim at connecting people and promoting industrial communications.
