Okjee is an online retail platform selling goods of creative and original designs, launched by Jiangsu Lemaidao Network Technology Co., Ltd., and recognized last year by provincial authority as a pilot project of modern service.

"Then we realized that being an online shopping website alone was not enough," said CEO Ding Xuelei, who led her team signing contracts with over 800 designers for the D2C platform, promoting fruitful interactions among consumption, design, investment, and traditional industries. "We're hoping to gather more designers so that our commodities would be 'designed in China' instead of 'Made in China'."

By integrating both online and offline resources, Okjee aims to create a service network combining ideas, designs, products, and customers. "We're working on an offline experience center featuring exhibition and salon on front stage and communications and incubation on backstage. We want to make it a place for people to turn their valuable and meaningful ideas into realities," Ding said.

"Our products are non standard and our target customers are those with good taste and looking for creative and unique goods," she continued. "I think fans play an important role in today's Internet economy and when people like an idea or a product, there is market." As a matter of fact, Okjee's online community connects designers, clients, and manufacturers.

"We have four criteria for choosing products sold online, the quality, the design, the practical use, the price and the acceptance among customers. Our goal is to make everyone an artist of life."

In order to attract more designers, Okjee offers multiple profit-making channels, including selling products, designs, and patents, getting investment, and incubating and industrializing.
