Several parent-child events that took place on Dec 25 in different communities in SIP’s Hudong sub-district showed good effect in tightening family ties and spreading knowledge.

In the event in Xiangmao Community, the participating parents and their children assembled paper models of an ancient Chinese building following the three-dimensional diagram showed by the volunteer using PPT. In the process, they gained a better understanding of the charm and essence of ancient Chinese architectures.

In the event in Xinyue Community, over 20 families built different models using modular blocks following a volunteer teacher’s demonstration and instruction. The event not only enhanced the participants’ hands-on skills, but also inspired their creativity.

The Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation at Zhonghai Community organized a cooking event on Dec 25. The volunteer teacher started the event with finger puppet play to arouse the participants’ zest for the event and then taught them to make Snowflake Pastries, a kind of sweet and crisp pastries made of such ingredients as shattered biscuits, dried cranberries and milk powder.
