Wang Hua, deputy head of United Front Work Department of CPC Jiangsu Working Committee and director of Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province, and his contingent on Aug 5 visited Overseas Chinese Academy of Chiway Suzhou (OCAC-Suzhou), an SIP-based school especially designed for children of overseas Chinese and returnees, learning about its construction and offering advice for its future development.

The school, jointly founded by Shanghai-headquartered Chiway Education Group and SIP-headquartered China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Development Group Co Ltd, offers dual-language and multi-cultural kindergarten to high school education to children of overseas Chinese and returnees and others who wish to join international education programs. SIP authorities believe it can help attract talented overseas Chinese and returnees to the area and therefore have provided great support to it, including privileges in land use and subsidies for tuition fees.

In the event, the officials and the school executives held a symposium where OCAC-Suzhou principal Zhang Jianlan gave the officials a specific introduction to the school’s objectives, educational philosophies, curricula, faculty and students.
The officials then toured around the school’s laboratories, multi-function halls and classrooms to learn more about it.
Wang encouraged the school to continuously better its offerings to students and expand its channels for international exchanges, and promised to provide it with more support in the future.
