Eighteen undergraduate and graduate students and their teachers from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) School of Pharmacy had a tour around SIP on July 23 as part of their summer vacation survey for a better understanding of what a career in the pharmaceuticals sector is all about.

　　 

In the event, the students viewed exhibits designed to mark SIP’s 25th anniversary, attended a symposium at Suzhou Innovative Medicine Research Institute, a branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, and visited SIP BioBay and several local biotech companies. In the process, they learnt a lot about the development of medical technologies and products in the area. Many of them said the tour enhanced their determination to study hard to prepare themselves for a future career in the field.

An executive at O-HR, an SIP-based HR service company that co-organized the tour, said they are working with a number of domestic schools to organize events of similar kind in an attempt to lure talents to SIP.
