Twenty teachers who are attending the “iSmart Home” International Teacher Training Program jointly sponsored by SIP Administrative Committee and Singaporean non-profit organization Temasek Foundation International arrived at Singapore on July 7, starting their five-day training tour that is expected to help them acquire some innovative teaching methods.

As scheduled, the teachers first visited the National Institute of Education of Singapore where they toured around the campus to learn more about it and attended a lecture given by several Singaporean educators. At the lecture, two teachers from SIP schools gave demonstration lessons and exchanged opinions with the Singaporean educators, while other trainees also discussed with the educators their teaching methods and the problems they had encountered in work.

Later, the teachers had a lecture on pottery art, where they learnt to make pottery ware and experienced effective approaches of guiding students to seek solutions for problems in practices.
It is reported that the teachers will also visit Singapore University of Technology and Design, and Science Centre Singapore, Commonwealth Secondary School and several other places for a better understanding of local educational philosophies and programs.
