Cold Spring Harbor (CSH) Asia DNA Learning Center, hailed as the biggest gene science education organization in the Asia-Pacific region, runs a diversity of programs that have helped a huge number of people increase their knowledge on life science since it was jointly founded by SIP Administrative Committee and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) in SIP in July 2015.

The center has a volunteer program that enables biology students to serve as volunteers at the center during their vacations or specific events to provide demonstration and assistance in various experiments. This allows the participants to accumulate experience in social services and enhance their biological knowledge as well. It is learnt that the center recently launched the recruitment for summer vacation volunteers.

On the other hand, the center provides a variety of life science learning programs targeting teenagers, such as the tailored courses for students at Ulink College of Suzhou Industrial Park, the summer camps with lessons given by CSHL experts, and the “Little Life Scientists” public-benefit program aimed at helping youngsters acquire scientific learning approaches and thinking modes for life science study.

Apart from that, the center initiated the “For the Future” teacher training program in 2017 in an effort to help Suzhou’s science and biology teachers enhance their teaching ability and seek further career development. Statistics show that the program has benefited more than 180 teachers so far.
