Yang Qianle, a freshman at Suzhou Centennial College (SCC), moved atop his group after beating all his opponents in the 2019 Jiangsu Higher Vocational Schools' Spoken English Competition held from Mar 8 to 10 at Jiangsu Maritime Institute, Nanjing, capital of East China's Jiangsu province. 

The event, sponsored by Jiangsu Education Department, consisted of preliminaries and finals designed to test the contestants' abilities of using their English skills to overcome occupational challenges. 

It is learnt that SCC, with two thirds of its faculty members being foreign experts and overseas returnees, has bagged the prize for seven straight years.
