The 19th Chinese Primary and Middle School Students and Teachers' Spring Festival Gala was held at Peking University on Jan 26. The dance troupe consisting of 28 pupils from SIP Jingcheng School, the only one from Suzhou, staged their multi-award-winning dance Dream to Be a Super Kid. Their performance amazed the audiences and won the gold award after beating 19 opponents from around the country with a high score of 9.9.

A parent who took part in the event as a volunteer told in the later interview that the students had been practicing hard since they gained the entry to the event last November, hoping to give a perfect performance at the national event.

Zou Yang, a music teacher at the school and art director of the troupe, revealed that the performance is based on the true story of one of her students, a girl who is always willing to help others even though she herself suffers muscle weakness in her right leg due to poliomyelitis.

The jury panel gave high comments on the performance, believing that it is an elaborately woven story told by a group of lovely little dancers who portrayed contemporary kids' dreams and aspirations for the future with their vivid expressions and excellent performing skills.
