19 SUHS students win awards in CEMC mathematics contest

Recently, 19 students at China-Canada International Education Department at Soochow University High School (SUHS) received the Certificate of Distinction for their outstanding performance in the Canadian Intermediate Mathematics Contest (CIMC) hosted in November 2018 by Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Yang Yishu and Cao Yijie, two of them, received the Contest Medal.

CEMC is known as Canada's largest and most recognized outreach organization for promoting and creating activities and materials in mathematics and computer science. It hosts a series of internationally recognized contests each year to help inspire global 7th to 12th graders to develop an interest in and love for mathematics and computer science.

It is learnt that, in the CIMC, only students scoring in the top 25% of all competitors receive the Certificate of Distinction, while each school champion receives the Contest Medal.
