Cedar Cove, an SIP-based third-party educational assessment service supplier, inaugurated its Shida Educational Big Data Research Institute in SIP on Dec 17. The institute will specialize in educational data mining, analysis, processing and release for teaching and learning activities and related research.

It is revealed that SIP's education and technology departments provided great support for the founding of the research institute, hoping it can help balance local educational resources and improve teaching quality.

The event was coupled with a forum on big data's role in educational reform. A host of educational experts and representatives from the research institute held discussions on a series of related topics. Li Wenjian, founding CEO of Cedar Cove and president of the new institute, introduced their technological achievements and services.
