Nearly 100 students, scholars and alumni from Chinese and Australian universities recently gathered in an event at USYD (University of Sydney) China Center, SIP, trying to gain a better understanding of each other and seeking cooperation opportunities.

The event is expected to lay a good foundation for consolidating the friendly relations between the two countries, according to Graeme Meehan, who heads the Australian Consulate-General in Shanghai, the sponsor of the event.
The participants, including those from USYD, University of South Australia, University of Science and Technology of China, Soochow University and other educational institutions, exchanged opinions on a diversity of subjects they have common interests in. Additionally, staff from Australian Trade and Investment Commission provided the latest business information to them.
