Lu Feiyu, an undergraduate from the Department of Computer Science at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), was recently offered full scholarships by the Virginia Tech University and Purdue University to doctoral candidates. In the interview, Lu shared his experiences and feelings about his school study over the past few years.

Lu attributed his achievement in part to research-oriented study and diversified practice opportunities.

"In my second year here, I joined a VR game research project supported by school fund. The experiences under the project enhanced my comprehension of the theories learnt in classroom and urged me to delve deeper into the field. Besides, I took part in various domestic and international knowledge and skill contests and exchange activities, which broadened my horizons."

Of course, Lu believes that opportunities plus diligence equals excellence. That's why he always works hard to take full advantage of the opportunities to achieve his goals.

"I love doing research, and I believe I can do it well," he said.

Liang Haining, the teacher who has offered Lu great support, spoke highly of him, "Lu is a very earnest and down-to-earth guy. He has strong will power to help him work under pressure and excellent abilities to deal with complicated tasks."
