Eight fathers with doctorates imparted knowledge on science, finance and urban planning to the students in SIP Hanlin Primary School on Oct 26. The event was part of the school’s "Dr. Dads' Working Station" program that was launched in May to encourage fathers with doctorates to give lessons to the students based on their specialties. Up till now, about 100 fathers have served as volunteer teachers under the program.

"The program builds a new bridge for better parent-child interactions," a father who participated in the program said.

"The lessons are easy to understand and interesting. I like it, as many of my classmates do," a fifth grader said.

In addition to the working station, the school has built up the Family Education BBS for parents and teachers to exchange opinions on child rearing. It also organizes the students to visit the workplaces of the fathers for a better understanding of their jobs.

The school authority said these are good ways to help the students broaden their horizons and learn knowledge through multiple channels.
