On July 26, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) celebrated the 10th anniversary of its founding in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). As the first brand-new and distinctive international university in China through cooperation with a foreign peer and with independent legal person status, XJTLU has, through a decade's development, been regarded as the "benchmark of China-foreign cooperative universities" and the "pioneer in China's higher education reform".

In 2006, Xi'an Jiaotong University and University of Liverpool joined hands to found the XJTLU in Suzhou. The past decade has witnessed the fast growth of its enrollment scale and academic reputation. From about 160 students at the beginning, it has now a vibrant community of more than 10,000 registered students; from a "one-building" university ten years ago, the campus grows into a full array of buildings and blocks; from a small team of only dozens of staff, it has now a faculty of nearly 1,000 teachers and staff from more than 50 countries; and from the fragmented researches at the early stage, it has now established over 10 institutes as well as XJTLU International Technological Transfer Center and XJTLU International Innovation Harbor, and also embraced hundreds of international talents with different backgrounds. With XJTLU's open and compatible cultural breed, the innovation genes and entrepreneurship, it works with the world's leading enterprises and institutions, and proactively explores the new ecology of universities and industries as well as universities and social interaction in the Internet era and the backdrop of globalization.

Design effect of South Campus

On the very day, South Campus of XJTLU was officially put into use, and the finance center and school of film and television art jointly built by XJTLU and Golden Finance Group made their debut, which are expected to be completed by 2018.
