The competition of creative costume shows, sponsored by and organized by Suzhou Science and Technology Association and Suzhou Industrial Park Youth & Children Center (SIPYCC), started with the first performance on May 11 at SIPYCC after a month's meticulous preparations. The teachers and students from various schools of Suzhou demonstrated how they can vividly portray a specific thing or situation by tapping their imaginations and the use of auxiliary stage properties, make-ups, costume, body movements, and stage backdrops.

SIPYCC launched the "Kaleidoscopic Creative Costume Shows" in April 2011 by adapting the idea of the Japanese version of "All Japan Kasoh Grand-Prix" in re-recreation, and holds the activity biennially for four years straight. The current event is the 4th competition, with a record-high participation of 60 schools.
