Jiangsu provincial authorities of education and finance launched a special program in 2013 connecting medical and education resources to help special kids with early interventions and rehab services. The managers and experts gathered at Bo'ai School in Suzhou Industrial Park on September 23 to discuss the achievements of the program and exchange experience. There are at present seven special education institutions in Jiangsu in the experimental program and Bo'ai is the only one from Suzhou.
Founded in 1998, Bo'ai is a private non-profit school, combining medical care with education program since day one. After years' efforts, the school now has a special team of teachers, therapists, and medical workers in support of kids with autism and cerebral palsy. Liang Bing, the principal of the school, said that the program was good news for special kids and it would improve the overall level of education and rehab in the country. "I hope the program would promote the special education in Jiangsu and the entire country," she said at the meeting.
