Singapore’s Ambassador to China Lui Tuck Yew and his contingent visited SIP on Jan 9 for a survey on SIP’s development.

In the company of several local officials including Wu Qingwen, secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, Mr. Lui Tuck Yew and his fellows first had a tour around SIP Exhibition Center where they gained a holistic picture of SIP’s achievements since its inception in 1994. Mr. Lui Tuck Yew gave high praise for SIP’s innovative application of experience borrowed from Singapore in driving local economic and social development.

Following that, the officials visited Suzhou Center, a modern commercial complex and landmark in SIP, and learnt many details about its characteristic projects and its role in improving local people’s livelihood.
In the process, the Chinese and Singaporean officials also discussed future cooperation potentials in the construction of the new free trade zone established in SIP last September.
