Four officials from the Ministry of National Development (MND) and Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) of Singapore attended a meeting in SIP on Dec 23 to share with a number of local officials their experiences of and feelings about a two-week tour around Suzhou.

The officials started the tour on Dec 10 based on a MOU signed between Suzhou government and MTI at the 19th China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council Meeting held in Singapore last year for the purpose of increasing visits of Singaporean government officials to Suzhou for more profound communication and exchange. Over the past two weeks, they partook in a series of symposiums and field visits to learn about local governance mechanisms and business environment and seek opportunities for cooperation in various fields. 

 

At the meeting, the Singaporean officials gave high praise to SIP’s achievements in social and economic development, and discussed with local officials details about future cooperation in such fields as official training and business incubation.

“I’ve learnt a lot about SIP’s business support policies and Suzhou’s future development plans in line with the strategies for the Yangtze River Delta integration and the development of the new free trade zone in SIP,” one of the officials said.

“SIP has set up a good example in offering excellent business services. I hope there will be more chances in the future for exchange of experience in this respect,” another official said.

  

The Singaporean officials are listening to an introduction to SIP High-end Manufacturing and International Trade Zone.

 

The officials are attending a meeting with the authorities of Nanyang Innovation Center, a joint establishment by SIP Administrative Committee and Nanyang Technological University.

 

The officials are visiting Suzhou Broadcasting and TV Station.

 

  The officials are listening to an introduction to Ascendas Xinsu Industrial Square.
