A three-day training program is underway in SIP, with a series of courses given by experts and scholars from Nov 28 to 30 to help local officials responsible for the development of the new free trade zone in SIP gain a better understanding of their tasks in helping drive reform and innovation in the zone and ways of fulfilling the tasks.

It is learnt that the FTZ called China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone Suzhou Area was established in SIP in September, and SIP authorities have adopted a series of reform and innovation initiatives with the hope of optimizing the business environment in the zone and facilitating trade based on it.

In the first session, prof. Wang Xinkui, president of the council of Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center, leader of China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone Advisory Board and member of Shanghai Advisory Committee for Policy Decision, gave the participants a talk on new trends of economic globalization and China’s opening-up under new international circumstances. He also offered advice for the development of the FTZ in SIP based on a series of good practices at China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, China’s first FTZ inaugurated in Shanghai in 2013.
