Suzhou officials visit assistance counterpart Horgos

Wu Qingwen, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of SIP Party Working Committee, and his contingent paid a visit to Horgos, a city in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and an assistance counterpart of Suzhou, from Aug 8 to 9, hoping to expand assistance to the city in its development.
It is learnt Suzhou has launched 125 projects since 2010 to help Horgos accelerate its economic development and improve people’s livelihood.
 
During their stay in Horgos, the Suzhou officials visited a number of local facilities to gain a holistic picture of the city’s development and future planning and the progress of a series of cooperative projects between the two cities’ governments, and attended the inauguration and launching ceremonies for two of the projects.
 
  
The officials also called on the Suzhou officials, teachers and medics who are working in Horgos under various assistance programs, giving them greetings and expressing thanks to them for their contributions to local development.
In addition, the delegation members attended a meeting with several local leading officials, and discussed with them details about future cooperation.
 
Moreover, the authorities of four sub-districts in SIP signed agreements with eight villages and communities in Horgos on Aug 9 to give them a leg up in their future development, and SIP Federation of Alliances for Independent Innovation in Medical Equipment Development (Dushu Lake Alliance) donated medical equipment worth RMB 3 million to Horgos.
